Architectural Control Committee
The Architectural Control Committee (ACC) exists to help maintain the beauty, harmony, and property values of the Waterford neighborhood. By reviewing exterior improvements such as significant landscaping, fences, outbuildings, and other structures, the ACC ensures that all changes are aesthetically compatible with surrounding homes and the overall character of the community. The committee also provides guidance and support to homeowners who wish to make improvements, helping to balance personal expression with the standards that make Waterford a desirable place to live.
The ACC has kept a record over the years of their decisions concerning matters that are not directly addressed in the CC&R's. This is a list of those decisions:
Top 5 Waterford Covenants, Conditions, and Waterford Rules
1. Store boats, campers, trailers, etc., in a fenced CC&R approved area or off site. City ordinance allows these items to be parked on the street for 24 hours. Waterford guidelines allow them to be parked in your driveway for up to 72 hours, providing time for loading, unloading, and maintenance.
2. Get approval from the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) before installing a fence or pergola, building a shed, painting your house, installing a satellite dish, making improvements, or doing significant landscaping or hardscaping. Not sure what is considered significant landscaping? If you’re planting flowers go ahead, if you’re pouring cement or planting trees check with the ACC first.
3. Keep a nicely maintained appearance in your yard. Pull your weeds. Trim your bushes. Mow and water your lawn. Maintain your fence.
4. Keep your trash in the garage unless it’s garbage day. Garbage day in Waterford is MONDAY.
5. Placing “For Rent” or “For Sale” signs in your yard are fine. Signs advertising business services are not permitted.
And a few helpful laws from the City:
1. Shovel your walks.
2. Clean up after your dog.
3. Keep barking dogs inside.
Simple Summary:
Be a good neighbor. Think of others. Clean up after yourself. Enjoy the neighborhood!
